In a pioneering effort, the IIFL JITO Ahimsa Run, powered by Torrent Group, will host over 500 visually impaired children at a Mumbai marathon on April 2nd, 2023. Representing an array of specialized schools and blind associations, these resilient participants aged 12 and above will challenge themselves in 10 km, 5 km, and 3 km race categories.

JITO Mumbai Zone Chairman, Prithviraj Kothari, commends the visually impaired children for their determination and strength in overcoming physical obstacles while promoting the values of peace, empathy, and non-violence. Their participation plays a crucial role in raising awareness for the event’s mission.

According to Mahendra Jain, Vice Chairman of JITO Mumbai Zone, the overwhelming response from visually impaired children across Maharashtra has reinforced the organization’s commitment to inclusivity and diversity. The IIFL JITO Ahimsa Run aims to unite participants from all walks of life in a shared pursuit of peace.

In preparation for the event, the organizers will provide training programs specifically designed for visually impaired children. Cash prizes, trophies, medals, and certificates will be awarded to the competitors, who will also benefit from dedicated areas at the venue for reporting and flag-offs, ensuring their safety and security.
