Roche Takes a Leap in Indian Diabetes Care with Locally Manufactured Accu-Chek Active Meters

Roche Diabetes Care India (RDC India) has made a strategic move to manufacture its Accu-Chek Active blood glucose monitoring device in India, partnering with Sanmina-SCI India Pvt. Ltd. for manufacturing and Parekh Integrated Services Pvt. Ltd. (PISPL) for assembly and distribution. This initiative aims to meet the growing needs of the Indian market and enhance access to diabetes care.

With the first batch of Indian-manufactured Accu-Chek Active meters already available across the country, RDC India continues to be a leader in integrated personalized diabetes management (iPDM) products and solutions through their Accu-Chek range of blood glucose monitoring systems.

The new product packs, featuring the ‘Made in India’ tag, highlight the company’s commitment to the local market. RDC India anticipates that this move will not only make Accu-Chek Active meters more accessible to India’s growing diabetic population but also help the company reduce its carbon footprint and contribute to global sustainability goals.

Omar Sherief Mohammad, Cluster Head – India Middle East and Africa, RDC, shared his excitement about the launch, stating, “We are pleased to announce the manufacturing of Accu-Chek Active meters in India in partnership with Sanmina. Sustainability has been a fundamental part of Roche’s business for 125 years. This move aligns with our commitment to improve access to diabetes care by shortening our time to market and adopting more sustainable operations by reducing our carbon footprint.”

The Accu-Chek Active meters will be produced at Sanmina’s advanced manufacturing facility in Chennai, upholding the brand’s globally approved quality standards.
