Gandhi Hospital Lauded for Thalassemia Patient Care on World Thalassemia Day

The Thalassemia Sickle Cell Society (TSCS) recently praised Gandhi Hospital’s Department of Paediatric Surgery for their commitment to thalassemia children requiring splenectomy medical services. Over the past three years, the department, led by Prof Dr. K. Nagarjuna, has performed 40 splenectomies for these patients.

TSCS President Mr. Chandrakant Agarwal and CEO & Secretary Dr. Suman Jain expressed their gratitude for the excellent care provided by the hospital’s dedicated paediatric surgeons. They highlighted the hospital’s post-operative environment that includes a well-equipped “Children Play Den” with motorized cars, television, and a large aquarium, creating a comfortable and healing space for the young patients.

In recognition of the exceptional work done by Gandhi Hospital’s Department of Paediatric Surgery, TSCS has requested the Telangana government to acknowledge the hospital’s contribution to thalassemia patient care, particularly in performing safe splenectomies.
