“Harpic and News18 Unite to Champion Sanitation and Hygiene on World Health Day 2023”

Harpic and News18 have joined forces to commemorate World Health Day on April 7, 2023, with a landmark event that seeks to promote better sanitation and hygiene practices in India. Aligning with the World Health Organization’s ‘Health for All’ initiative, the ‘Cleanliness and Water Initiative’ underscores the vital role that hygiene and access to toilets play in creating a healthy society.

The ‘Cleanliness and Water Initiative’ advocates for inclusive sanitation solutions, working towards providing clean toilets to everyone, regardless of gender, ability, caste, or class. CNN News18 will broadcast the live event, featuring Union Health Minister Shri Mansukh Mandaviya and celebrities such as Sania Mirza, Shilpa Shetty, and Kajal Aggarwal, discussing the integral connection between health and sanitation.

The campaign seeks to raise awareness about the need for clean and accessible toilets while inspiring individuals and communities to collaborate towards a healthier and more hygienic society for all. Since 2019, Network18 and Harpic’s campaign has successfully brought attention to critical water and sanitation issues, and now it focuses on promoting behavioral change across India to ensure access to clean and safe toilets for all citizens.

On World Health Day, the event will emphasize our shared responsibility to promote sanitation and showcase the various initiatives and their impact as part of the ‘Cleanliness and Water Initiative.’ The campaign has successfully engaged numerous social leaders from various walks of life, mobilizing public opinion and support for the cause.
