Aster Hospital Muhaisnah hosts medical and wellness camp for 150 female workers, organized by Aster Volunteers
In celebration of International Women’s Day, Aster Volunteers, the corporate social responsibility arm of Aster DM Healthcare, conducted a medical and wellness camp for over 150 low-income women workers in Sonapur, Dubai. The women, who work for companies such as GEMS, Abela & CO, Al Ghurair, and Enoc, were given access to a range of medical services, including basic screenings, consultations with doctors in various specialties, and a Basic Life Saving (BLS) training session.
The event was organized as part of the Aster Volunteers Diva program, which aims to empower underprivileged women through a range of initiatives. Since its launch a few years ago, the program has benefited over 500 women.
During the medical and wellness camp, the women were also presented with special privilege cards that can be used to avail discounts on their medical bills at any Aster or Access facility. Ms. Alisha Moopen, Deputy Managing Director of Aster DM Healthcare, highlighted the importance of good health for families and society, noting that many of these women are enablers of health for their own families.
In addition to the medical services, the women enjoyed a variety of entertainment activities and wellness programs throughout the day. The event concluded with the distribution of the privilege cards and a commitment from Aster Volunteers to continue supporting underprivileged women in the future.
Aster Volunteers is a global movement that has impacted over 4.25 million lives through the efforts of more than 53,000 volunteers. In honor of its 36th Foundation Day, Aster DM Healthcare announced a campaign called ‘Kindness is a Habit’, which includes offering 1000 discounted surgeries in seven countries to those in need. The campaign is another way that Aster Volunteers is working to make a positive impact in communities around the world.
